Uncommon/Unfamiliar Terms used in the story, and their meanings.
The Glade- the Elven lands that Koehlon's father is King over.
Fyrre- the village where Rowena lives. Borders the Glade, at the base of the Coniferous Forest, on the east side.
Darklings- Dark Elves prone to violence; responsible for the raid on Astilve
Datto- Elvish word for bastard.
Exor: the male half of a true mated union in the Misceo culture. Equivalent to husband.
Exori: the female half of a true mated union in the Misceo culture. Equivalent to wife.
Astilve: the name of the largest Misceo city. The city of higher learning in their culture where the Scola Alte is located. Astilve is a melting pot of all the types of Misceo people from many different villages all over the region.
Scola Alte: School of highest learning in the Misceo culture. Located in Astilve.
Glamour- the varying ability of the Misceo people to disappear from view or blend into their surroundings. Some are better at this skill than others. Most can only invoke "FULL" glamour ( or totally disappearing) into play for minutes at a time. Misceo's also refer to their ability to blend into their surroundings (while not fully "disappear") as glamouring.
Aeyonary- Elven realm to the west of the Glade; home to Hycis, Koehlon's betrothed.
Types of Misceo people:
Silva- those that can blend with the forests; most have varying shades of brown skin, although there have been a handful of cases of those born with skin a shade of green.
Umbra- those that can blend with the shadows: most have varying shades of gray skin
Noctis: those that can blend with the night: have the darkest skintone, typically darker than the Silva's, more black. Noctis can also blend in the shadows.
Aqua: those that can blend with the water: their skin color tends to fall in the blue spectrum. The rare green Silva may also be confused with an aqua. Many aquas are of a blue/green shade and they can cross blend in both bodies of water and forests in the green seasons.
Nix: those that can blend with snow. white skin color and hair; The rarest type of Miseo although Noctis and Aqua aren't as common as Silva and Umbra.
Druids- "Others" - A race with "unnatural/supernatural" abilities. Their abilities are varied. Feared by humans and often hunted by other humans, as they are often times believed to be possessed by evil.
Wolven- A race of people, while not shifters, they are "connected" to wolves and have the ability to communicate with them and see through their eyes. They also carry a "pack" instinct, heightened senses of smell and hearing, as well as heightened other senses, such as the ability to detect danger. Wolven have nails unlike most other races that are incredibly hard and strong and can lengthen to be used as weapons when needed. Most also tend to have a more prolific head of hair than most other races, and the men tend to prefer beards. Wolven mate for life and are extremely protective of their mates. They are very affectionate creatures within their pack.
A mated pair is monogamous, but until a mating bond is established, wolven tend to be pretty free with their sexuality, both males and females.

Hycis- Heir of Aeyonary, and Koehlon's betrothed.
Tuath'n Elves- Elven community in the far north country. Provided sheltered lands and protection over a band of Druids hunted by humans and known as "Others" by the humans and those in other parts of the country.
