Toross is weary................weary of all the deception in his life, wearing of the strain of keeping his true family safe, weary of pretending to be someone he truly isn't at heart, weary of his son's hatred, weary of always being on guard for fear something will slip to let those around him know all is not as it seems.
As he contemplates his life yet again, in the hour before he has to leave Ginia, he struggles with how he can make a permanent change. He knows Grayson would help him. Heaven knows Ginia has been at him for years in the sparse, secret time they have together to make necessary changes for them to be able to be together permanently and finally, finally let their mating bond take root. She's tired of the few stolen moments they are allowed, and he is as well.
First and foremost is always her safety though, hers and their sons. If he breaks from his father and his birth family ties, there will be hell to pay. He doesn't want Ginia, Joran or anyone else he truly cares about caught in the crossfire.
Grayson is formidable and has strong, influential ties within the Misceo network though..............maybe it's time he has some serious talks with Grayson to start initiating change, permanent change, as Ginia keeps pressing him to do.
Their son is now a grown man now, a warrior in his own right as Ginia keeps reminding him. Doesn't he want a chance to get to know his son and dispel some of the untruths Joran has heard about him all his life.
He is tired of walking away..........................as Grayson calls from the hallway, "It's Time", for the first time since he walked away from his mating bond, and a life with Ginia all those years ago, he has a small kernel of hope.
