Due His Turn

My mist gray Dominic human head has spent way too much time in a box. He was an alternate head I purchased back when the mist gray elves were offered with both elven and human heads. Toross, my Elven head gets the body most of the time, but yesterday I decided Dominic needed a turn, as he is painted beautifully.

The Right Hair

When I ordered Tyghan, I envisoned him to be a redhead, as I thought SJ's peach cream resin would be more along the lines of Iplehouse's peach gold.  When Tyghan arrived, I found the peach cream resin to be closer to Iple's normal than peach resin, and the red wig I had in mind for him didn't fit him, so I had to pivot. The first wig I tried on him had more brown tones, and not much warmth to it.

While I liked this wig, it wasn't what I really wanted.  Recently I was perusing Amadiz's site, as I often do and came across a golden blonde wig I took a chance on being perfect for Tyghan. I'm very pleased with the result. I think Tyghan has finally found his 'look'.

I think this color has the perfect amount of 'warmth' to it, and the volume is think enough to let his elf ear peek through, which I love.

Still Contemplating Characters

Still contemplating Tyghan and Meridyn's characters, and decided to throw my RD Elf Lily into the mix. I'm thinking these 3 may be a found family.......................I would need to change her eye color for her to be their daughter, but she could be an adopted daughter. I like the three of them together.

Lily with Meridyn

And Meridyn with Tyghan. I do love these 2 together.

Contemplating Characters

Still playing with these 2 and contemplating how they might fit into the "Glade" world. While Leo isn't a redhead as I originally envisioned him, I still think he works well with my Elf Monica from RD.

And a bonus shot of Meridyn, my Elf Monica

Is Anyone Still Out There?

Hello folks, I know it's been a while. Is anyone still out there? As typical of me, there have been ebbs and flows in my dolly collecting and I've gotten away from photographing my fantasy group of MSD dolls. I'd like to try and remedy that and start sharing more here again. I did get a new doll in recently, SartoriaJ's Elf Leonard. I'm hoping maybe he will spur me into taking some new photos and diving into my fantasy realm of characters a bit more again. Some pics of Tyghan. I'm not sure where he fits into my group, but I am quite enamored with this sculpt. I'm looking forward to photographing him more to see where he might fit in. So hopefully you will be seeing more updates here.

My greatest frustration with the SartoriaJ MSD sized men is their headsize. They seem to be a true size 6, which means most 5/6 wigs readily available pop off (even some of the SJ wigs I've gotten!) and most 6/7's are too big. The one Tyghan is wearing here is the best of the many wigs I've tried on him so far. It's a Jinsun (sp?) wig in size 6/7. Its the one he will keep for now until I can possible find something I like better for him. His lovely tunic is from my friend Robyn (Period Threads).

V'lane

I've really neglected my BJD's the past couple of years, as I've found myself back in the 12" fashion doll world. I still do love my elven crew though, and need to make some more time to photograph them again. With SartoriaJ's release of elves this month, I've been inspired to play again, and took the time to get V'lane out for some new photos.

V'lane has come into his own a bit since I finally found some eyes and a wig that work for him.  I haven't figured out his place in my elven world, but I am finally quite pleased with is look.

I really need to get back to thinking about the Glade stories, and photographing the crew more.

Glenna

Another new character for the Glade world arrived a couple of months ago. I haven't done much with her yet, not sure where exactly she is going to fit in, but her look came together rather well. She is a SartoriaJ Elf Juliet, and I have named her Glenna.

She's definitely got a strong, fiery personality.

Whoever is doing SartoriaJ's face ups these days is really doing a bang up job. Her face paint really is just stunning.

Now I just need to figure out where she fits in. Most of my elves are very light skinned, grey or normal, with the exception of Koehlon who is milk mocha.

She needs a bit more camera time to figure her out I suppose.

Alicent

I ordered Alicent when SartoriaJ was having a sculpt discontinuation back in the spring. I wasn't sure what part she would play in the Glade world and I'm still not, but I've been having a good time with her getting to know her a bit. I started out with Masterpiece Maeve Eclipse eyes in her, but wasn't totally satisfied with them.

I do like this wine wig I bought with her from SartoriaJ for her though.

I named her Alicent as I was watching House of the Dragon on HBO Max during the time she arrived and she reminded me quite a bit of the Alicent character in that show, so the name stuck.

This morning I decided to change her eyes out to Thundercloud gray, also by Masterpiece and I think they suit her much better.

Now that I've finally settled on her look, I just need to figure out who she is in relation to the rest of the Glade world.

Kage, Just Because

Some new Kage pictures, just because I haven't spent much time with him and felt like photographing him.

Time with Ganllon

Still trying to figure Ganllon out, so decided to spend some more time photographing him. One of the biggest drawbacks for the MSD sized crew is the ability to find a good wig, especially for the guys. I got this one in a while ago to try on Ganllon. It's still a little full, but I like the color and style.

The Elf Jude sculpt has another issue that furthers the difficulty in finding a wig...........his odd head size. He's probably a firm 6, so the 5/6 wigs are mostly too small, and the 6/7's are a little too big, as this one is. Add in elf ears and he's darn near impossible to fit properly.
It's a true struggle for me.

I do however love his sculpt. The pluses outweigh the minuses for me regarding this size too. I love that  props are a bit easier to find for me and I can use some of my indoor backgrounds that I bought for the 16" doll crew. The larger dolls, while gorgeous, are just harder to manipulate for photo taking, and I have truly run out of space for the larger doll boxes. I'm beginning to run low on space for the smaller boxes as well and really need to thin the herd.

Fog Gray

As I've been contemplating SartoriaJ's new crop of elves this year, in misty gray instead of last year's fog gray, I was inspired to get my favorite guy from last year's crop out for some new pictures. Last year SJ offered the option of purchasing the human head along with the fantasy head, and I took advantage with both Jude and Dominic's sculpts. I had my human Jude head painted with Elf Dominic's fog gray face up and just love how he turned out. So decided to share some new pics of Joran today.

I wasn't as enamored of the options we were given in the mini size of SJ's elves this year. The face ups and clothing overall didn't speak to me as much as last years crop. Maybe that's a good thing for my wallet.

The tunic Joran wears here is by my friend Robyn of Period Threads though, not SartoriaJ.

In the Cool of the Evening

Some new pics of Shy, just because. She was the first of my gray resins and one of the inspirations for my Misceo people.
