It was the autumn of her seventeenth year that she first set eyes on Laurion and began dreaming. Dreaming that he was her knight in shining armor and that he would fall in love with her and she would become his wife and the love of his life. They would have many children together and they would be happy, and grow old together.
Little did she know at that time, that this would not be the same dream shared by her mother and grandmother, nor Laurion's father. When she first laid eyes on him, and dared to dream, she did not know he was half Elf, and the Elf half was of royal blood. He was just an incredibly handsome stranger in her village asking for information about an old midwife.
A stranger who appeared to be as taken with her as she was with him. Now as she approaches the autumn of her twentieth year she worries that dreams do not always come true, no matter how much you may want them to. Her mother is pressuring her to wed another. While she does believe that Laurion loves her and wants to live his life with her, she is not as sure of the fairytale ending as she used to be. Elves do not see relationships through the eyes of humans, and even though he is part human, Laurion was raised as an Elf...………...and even though Rowena does possess some Elf blood through the line of her grandmother, she considers herself human.
