Reaghan

Another lovely lady, who will have a place in the Glade stories eventually made her way to Ohio this week. My friend Robyn had ordered her and then when she arrived she didn't quite fit into her crew like she envisioned, so I decided to give her a place in mine. Looking at her I had an idea of how I would like to use her, and I've always loved the Elle sculpt. I am going to call her Reaghan and she will have ties to Nan I believe. She is the PG resin and has a custom face up from Iple.

Her lovely gown was made for me by Robyn of Period Threads as well. I think the color of the panne velvet compliments her coloring well.

I may play around with her eyes and try some Safrin's in her when I get better light. I hate changing the eyes in the dolls this size though, so for now she will keep the green ones she came with.

Group Dynamics

Playing around with my "Misceo" dolls today trying to get a feel for group dynamics. I had ordered Nox with the idea that he could be a love interest for Shy, but I think they have other ideas after photographing them together. Shy works for Nox, and he looks out for her, they are friends, but I don't think there is anything more there than friendship and mutual appreciation.

I then added Daisha into the mix. I actually kind of like her with Nox, but not sure where it will go as they are a bit difficult to photograph together with his resin being so dark. 

I do think they  work much better together as a potential pairing than Nox and Shy though. I really do kind of like her with him.

Daisha came with blue eyes, which I wasn't 100% happy with, so I changed them out for the brown ones that actually came in Nox today. I like the brown much better for her.

And lastly a couple of shots of Nox and Hauk. Hauk and Nox went to school together and are friends. Hauk is someone that Nox trusts completely, and there aren't many that have earned his complete trust.

Another new addition

Just a couple of quick pics of Nox, who arrived home last week. With the Thanksgiving holiday, and my son and his wife visiting, I've just now gotten to play with him a bit and try and find his look.

Here is a very quick "out of the box" flash shot with the Iple eyes he arrived with.

I wanted to change his eyes out and give him a little more "exotic" vibe like the rest of the Misceo crew, so today I changed them to Safrin Bold burst pastel and I like them better. Nox is an FID Dane in ebony. His resin is very dark and it makes him a bit hard to photograph. The wigs I had on reserve for him didn't work as well as I would have liked, so for now we are making due with the old standby, Monique Jojo.

I want to see if Chewin has a Dane in FID size, and if so order a Chewin wig for Nox. Until then...……..this one will have to do.  The sealant makes his face a tad shiny, which Iple warned me about in an email before his face up was completed.

I do like the exotic "vibe" he gives off. Finding the perfect wig will go a long way in completing his character, but for now I'm happy to have him home and look forward to playing around and photographing him with some of the other characters.

Still Figuring out Daisha

As the weather gets colder and the holidays approach I find myself with less time to develop and shoot the photos for the storyline, but I do want to take some time to try and figure out more about the characters. Still trying to figure Daisha out and fine tune her final look. Surprisingly enough I like this ash blonde Ginger wig on her the best so far. I really wanted her to be a white blonde when I ordered her, but I think I like this color better.

She arrived from Raccoon Doll with the blue eyes shown here. I REALLY hate setting eyes in this size.  I haven't decided if she is going to keep these or if she will get a change eventually.

I do like the emerald green gown on her. The tone on tone look works for her. Her color is more vibrant in person than I was expecting, so makes dressing her a bit more of a challenge as well.

I also got the chair she was pictured in today. I had ordered it from a store on Etsy when I started the Glade storyline. Took forever for it and the lounge I also ordered to arrive, but I think it will work nicely for the crew.

I've also been trying to figure out who she is going to interact with. I had hoped she and Ryland might hit it off, but I didn't like them together as love interests so back to square one there, but figuring things out is half the fun. She looks a bit regal in this chair...….which I really hadn't planned, but sometimes they have a will of their own it seems, lol!

Daisha

My new mint Daisy from Raccoon Doll arrived yesterday and I couldn't resist getting her in front of the camera, even though it isn't time for her in the storyline yet.  I'm still finalizing some details about her in my head and hair/eye color is subject to change but I love the color of her resin. It's a beautiful saturated shade of mint. I chose the Anthemis face up option for her as I was hoping the more understated face up would work well with her resin, and I was planning for her to be a blonde.

I'm very happy with how her face up turned out. Love her lips, and the slight smattering of freckles across her nose you can barely see here. She has her default eyes from Raccoon here. I may change them out later, but I really dislike changing eyes in this size, so she may get to keep them as I do think they work for her.

She is wearing a gown by Robyn of Period Threads. We were trying to figure out what colors might work best with her resin shade and Robyn had a small bit of this creamsicle color panne left that we decided would be perfect, and it is. The gown is stunning on her. The belt is from Raccoon Doll. Not sure if she will stay a pale blonde. I might try her as a redhead and see what I think, although I do like the blonde.

My Misceo Girls

Still "stalled" on the storyline, but decided to take my 2 Misceo girls out for some new photos today. I had ordered 2 wigs from Chewin for Shy and had never gotten around to taking any pics of her in the second wig. Thought I should remedy that. I'd like to order a third regular ponytail style. I wish Chewin had a Monica so I could order one for Sabia too. I love the hard cap wigs for the smaller dolls.

She also had not had a chance to model her purple top by Robyn, which I think looks fabulous with her resin color.

I thought it would be fun to put both Misceo girls together for some photos to see how their resin photographed together. Certainly not as difficult as photographing dark brown with normal!

I'm anxious for my mint green Daisy to arrive and join the fold. She has been "queued for shipment" on the Raccoon site for a couple of weeks now, so hopefully it won't be too much longer until her arrival.

I have gotten quite a lot of use out of the "belts" I found at Hobby Lobby.

Ryland, the New Guy

Well, I finally decided that my new guy, mini SartoriaJ Jude head (on the Iple FID body) will fit into the Glade world, now I just have to nail down his character, although I did get a name. His name is Ryland, Ry to those he is close to. 

I have a couple of ideas for his character, the first one is closely tied to Laurion, so decided to take them out for some pics today. Laurion wasn't cooperating very well. Or rather I was having difficulties with the light balance. ……………..then during editing I found some other issues. Seems Laurion's attention span wasn't very good. I imagine he does have a lot of things on his mind, lol!

 The second shot of them together had some arm posing issues, so I had to get creative with the edits. My other idea for his character involves Nox, so I need to wait until he gets here before deciding fully how to incorporate Ry into the story, but it will be fun playing with him in the meantime trying to figure out more about him.

A new guy..........

A break from the regular crew of the Glade to introduce a new guy, who I'm not sure will fit in the Glade or into another world. He's SartoriaJ's mini Jude head in amber beige, with the LeStat face up. I got the full LeStat outfit and boots as well. This morning I decided to tackle getting the outfit on. I had read previous reports from other owners about the boots not fitting well, so was a little worried about how big of a job it would be to try and get them on. The reports didn't disappoint, they were a BEAR to get on, but get them on I did and armed with tweezers got them buckled as well. He will not be taking them off anytime in the near future (sorry mini Jamie).  I have his head on an Iple FID muscle body, the only Iple FID body I have in RS. The match is good. I was a little worried about that from some of the posts I've read from other owners as well.  I might like him a little better on the model body I think, but don't have one of those yet.  He might work on the Raccoon body as well, haven't tried that yet, as Koehlon doesn't want to share. We tried a couple of wigs from our stash. I first put a blonde Monique "Junior" on him, and while I like the style, I'm not sure I'm sold on him as a blonde.

His eyebrows give him a very exotic feel about him. As a blonde he looks like he could be of Viking descent. I love the LeStat shirt...…….the pants however lace up the back and don't fully cover that Iple muscle body tush. There is quite a bit of gapping. I imagine they would fit the model body better, but as stated before, I don't have one of those yet.

The second wig I tried on him was a Monique Pretty girl in Ginger brown. I like this color much better for him I think.

He still needs a name and a storyline. I do like him in the period clothing though, so he will probably show up in the Glade again at some point...……..or I guess he could fit into the Outlander world as well. If he was normal resin he could make a good Lord John on the model body. A pic below of the full look including the gorgeous, but hard to get on boots! 

Speak to me Shy

I'm a little stalled with the story telling, so thought maybe if I took Shy out for some new photos she would speak to me a bit. She got some new clothes from Robyn (Period Threads) a short while ago and I thought it was about time she got to wear some of them.

I was hoping the blue would go well against her gray skin tone and I think it does. I'm really pleased with the color on her.

Her coloring is so different from anything else I have, and that's one of the things I love about her. I ordered a mint Daisy in the Raccoon Doll "Sale" a few months ago and she is "queued for shipment" so I'm excited to see her in person as well.

Sabia- An Imminent Arrival

She was looking forward to a quiet evening with her mate. Sabia had gotten the wine out and donned Hauk's favorite gown and was just waiting for him to return. All was fairly quiet in the Glade.  Not much progress had been made finding more information out about Nan. Her sources have proven to be unfruitful so far. Laurion was still away.  They were still waiting on Shye to arrive.

It was a good time to catch up and enjoy her exor's company. After all these years, he still stole her breath when he walked in a room.

The past few weeks had taken them in different directions for a good part of each day. She needed the time alone with Hauk.  

She had the night all planned...……..good wine, good food, good conversation...…...and then turning in early, and not with sleep in mind ...………….

Wait...………..was that a noise outside the window? What is it???? 

DRAT that bird...…….it appears Shay's arrival is imminent. The evening may not turn out quite like she had planned after all.

Outtakes-Working Dresses

I thought I would do an aside from the storyline to showcase a new style top/dress I got for the girls from Robyn at Period Threads. Robyn and I had been talking about what style of clothing might the Misceo girls wear to "work",  as they certainly wouldn't be in long gowns when working.  The first wrap top Robyn made for Sabia was inspired by the Raccoon Doll outfit showcased on their Iris elf sculpt. While I like this style a lot, I thought it would be fun to have some variety.

Robyn came up with the idea of shortening the medieval style gown into a top. She re-worked it to shorten the length and I received the first batch in the mail this week. For Sabia, I had one made in gold panne, as I thought it would be a good choice for fall. Since she is a Misceo that blends with the forest, when the leaves start to change, gold would be a good choice to blend in the the leaves.

Our leaves aren't changing quite yet, but you get the idea. I love how it turned out. If the length was adjusted and lengthened an inch or so, it could even be a cute modern dress.

I received several other colors as well, a couple of them for Shy that will be shown later when I get around to changing her clothes. Sabia is pretty happy to have another addition to her wardrobe. Thanks Robyn!

Rowena- Decisions, Decisions

Rowena's head was spinning...………...Laurion wanted her to leave her family and friends, and Fyrre and go to Astilve, the Misceo city for an undetermined period of time. Rowena had never traveled far from her village, and even then, never without a member of her family present. She sought out Aya, to talk over Laurion's proposition and get her friends advice.

Aya was not only her sister by marriage, but she was her closest friend. Aya had experienced the machinations of  Rowena's mother firsthand and understood her present plight all too well. If Rowena decided to go, she would need both Aya and Brenton's help in making sure neither her mother nor Abram would discover her destination.

Aya was of the opinion that Laurion really did have Rowena's best interest at heart, and Abram really was not to be trusted. She reminded Rowena that with no one to thwart him, he was not above using underhanded means to secure Rowena's hand. Best to remove herself from the situation entirely if given that option. "Think of what a grand adventure this could be!!" was her friends response. Rowena wondered, could she really do this? What if she really could help Laurion find the answers he was seeking? Maybe she needed to tell Laurion to start making his plans...………….
